The nutrition month is an annual campaign held every July in the Philippines as mandated by PD 491 also known as the Nutrition Act of the Philippines. It aims to create greater awareness among Filipinos on the importance of nutrition.
Nutrition information has never been more accessible until today because of the advanced technology. But does all the information on the internet true and can be trusted when it comes to nutrition information?
UTROS celebrates Nutrition Month held in Cabuyao, Laguna as part of the community outreach program. Representatives of UTROS in Philippines facilitate conversation about Nutrition and community service to the Guinting Elementary School in Cabuyao, Laguna held July 26, 2019. The program included discussion questions about nutrition, food feeding program, storytelling, coloring, poster and slogan making and gift giving. We also got the chance to taste varieties of food and evaluate the competition between the parents using local fruits and vegetables, as their main component to make a particular dish. The program highlights the importance of Nutrition that could be used by parents, teachers and young students. The program provided a supplemental tool for all communities local. Ultimately, the initiative was designed to encourage young students to learn, to encourage individuals to volunteer and to improve the community. We are especially grateful to our funders and contributors, your caring support will make a great difference in the lives of the children. We would also like to thank all the teachers, parents and students of Guinting Elementary School. Won’t you please step up to make a wonderful world?
